So I just watch Ghost World for the first time, as my housemate said she would not talk to me if I did not do so by the end of the month. Mixed feelings on this one. Being about two girls (played by a young Thora Birch and Scarlet Johansson) on who just graduated high school I guess part of it was lost on me.
At the start I didn’t really like the girls that much, but as it went on I did really like Thora’s character Enid. Steve Buscemi also gets a main role as Seymour and hes pretty lovable. I guess I relate to him the most as he plays the dorky collector who cant get a date. A large part is Enid and Seymour friendship so it good that there pretty great on screen together.
It’s a pretty great “girl growing up” type story however it felt like it had something to say then kind of ended. Or maybe It was just lost on me.
To sum up, a great little film with its own quirks that make it lovable.
(Ps. Thora Birch, what a babe.)
O dear, it seems I’ve discovered tumblr again.
Hey Tumblr, a lots changed sense you and I last talked. I graduated, got a job, moved out of home with my friends, all that jazz. O I went to China, that was cool.
So let us rebuild Fortress Maximus, my bunker of pop culture musings and chronicles of my adventures. (Also I feel a “suppository of all wisdom” joke should go here somewhere…)
Also Ben Affleck is Batman? I’m still getting over the shock were getting a Superman/Batman movie honestly.
